NexoTerra sees this as an opportunity to create a valuable resource while contributing to conservation efforts. In our case, we want to start with the 2.2 million tons of cannabis waste produce in the United States every year.

Biochar

Fast growing and utilizing less resources than cotton and other natural fibers, Cannabis sativa L. is one of the most versatile plants in the world. What was once considered waste can now be used to make biodegradable materials like biochar that can be utilize in agriculture as a soil ammendment to increase water rentetion, decrease pH of acidic soils, increase soil microbial communities, nutrient adsorption and improve soil structute. However, the uses of biochar as being explore in other industries like remidiation, water filtration, renewable energy offsets, and other non-soil products.
